Episode 0: Guide to Wandering
[guitar music]
Sam: Hey, welcome to Would You Wander, the storytelling nature podcast. I'm Sam, and I created it, here in amiskwaciwâskahikan on Treaty 6 territory. You might know it as Edmonton.
Whether you're in the city, the wilds, or anywhere in between, nature is always beside you. You don't need to be anywhere specific. From the snowy mountaintops to the puddle outside your front door, she's right there - you've already come to the right place to be in nature, exactly where you already are.
So maybe now you're like, "Great! Yeah, storytelling, nature, I'm in! What now?" That's where this comes in! So this is my guide to wandering with Would You Wander.
First things first, choose a wander. There's no wrong way, you don't need to go in order, you can do one, or if you want you can line up a bunch for a longer wander. They do vary in length, so maybe check that out first too if you need.
Second, get set. Make sure you have everything you need. My suggestion would be download the wander before you start, check any content warnings, and then, like, grab a snack, water, suncreen, a hat... I dunno, you might wanna stay outside forever! [laugh] That's how I always feel, anyways.
And then finally, go outside! That's it! Just grab your headphones (preferably ones you can still hear the birds through), go outside, and take a wander with us. Keep your eyes, your ears, and your heart open. That last one's very important. I know it's cheesy, but it's important.
And if you prefer transcription, or want to learn more about something you heard... or maybe you have a story of your own to share, that's awesome! We have a website, check it out for transcripts, resources, and more.
So come on - would you wander with us?
